YourBodySpeaksYourMind In her new book Your Body Speaks Your Mind, Deb Shapiro puts forth the concept that by thinking of our body and mind as being separate entities we are doing ourselves a disservice. She points out the very simple fact that every thought we have that we act on, and some we don't are energy. That energy is converted through neuropeptides into chemicals and electical signals throughout the body to respond. And most of it happens on an unconcsious level.
You don't have to tell the hair on the back of your neck to stand up when someone you don't know is staring at your backside. Even when you don't see them, their energy is received on same level and you feel their presence. No thought is required when your skin gets too cool and your skin goosebumps up before you begin to shiver. You don't need to tellyour heart to beat faster and harder when the one you love says something particularly kind. I don't want to spoil the book for you. You need to get your own copy! |
